| Dr Lean has a unique perspective on agribusiness having been
involved in dairy consultancy, corporate consultancy, veterinary
practice, academia, the pharmaceutical and feed businesses and has
detailed knowledge of factors that influence farming profit.
He was a board member of the Australian Veterinary Association,
Past president of the Australian Association of Cattle Veterinarians
and of the Cattle Chapter of the Australian College of Veterinary
Scientists and the Council of the Nutrition Society of Australia.
He has been on scientific boards of two International corporations.
Dr Lean taught at the Universities of Sydney and of California where
he also completed his PhD. He is one of 3 registered specialists
in Medicine of dairy cattle in Australia. He has been very influential
in changing feeding practices in the dairy industry in Australia
and New Zealand.
Ian has consulted to dairy producers and corporations in Australia,
United States, Argentina and New Zealand and been an invited speaker
at major conferences in these countries, the UK, Thailand, Canada,
Argentina and the Republic of South Africa.
He established a successful feed company that both imports and
produces novel feeds for cattle and is managing director of Strategic
Bovine Services, a company that consults to dairy and beef producers,
veterinarians, companies and conducts research.
