Dr. Lyle Rode worked for 17 years as a Research Scientist for Agriculture & Agri-Food Canada (AAFC). While at the Lethbridge Research Centre, he investigated protein and amino acid metabolism in beef and dairy cattle, developing protection systems for delivery of amino acids and other nutrients post-ruminally as well methodologies to evaluate their efficacy.

His research team was the preeminent group in the world studying fibrolytic enzyme supplements for ruminants. He has worked extensively in multi-disciplinary teams animal, plant and soil scientists to develop system based solutions to problems facing animal agriculture.

In 2000, he entered private industry as a private consultant providing research and technical advice to the livestock feed industry.

Dr. Rode holds 14 international patents, has published more than 90 refereed scientific publications, more than 200 abstracts and conference proceedings and more than 300 industry reports and technology transfer articles in the popular press.

Dr. Rode’s research interests include rumen microbial ecology, ruminant amino acid nutrition, and feed enzyme technology for ruminants.
